LaRita Shelby was born with stars in her eyes. The daughter of a gospel musician, LaRita started acting in school plays and community theater before making her way to Hollywood. She won a few beauty pageants along the way and quickly amassed roles in commercials, TV shows and feature films. Her most noted role is Carole, also known as O.G. Bobby Johnson’s girl in the urban classic “South Central.” LaRita is well versed in drama and comedy. She recently made her stand up comedy debut to a roaring crowd. The sky is the limit. LaRita is a leading lady with a comedic twist. LaRita was the honorary Chairwoman of the 2014 Women’s Theatre Festival of Memphis and for nine years she conducted a drama therapy group at a mental health facility for teens in Los Angeles.
